The average Brit has ‘three lovers at once’
If you've ever wondered if the person you're dating is also wining and dining someone else – well, they may just be, because a new survey has revealed the average Brit has three lovers at any one time.
The research, conducted by intimate healthcare experts Balance Activ, questioned 2,000 single adults about their love lives and revealed that one-quarter of female respondents aged between 35 and 44 are dating four men at the same time.
With dating sites and mobile apps like Tinder becoming increasingly popular, technology is impacting the love lives of our nation's singletons, with multiple partners often being viewed as the norm.
When male respondents were asked about their number of partners, 22 per cent said they had four or more.
One in ten women revealed they had been on three or more dates in one day, while 37 per cent of 18 to 24-year-olds believe they must be "date ready" at all times.
This led to 23 per cent of men admitting they keep a spare set of clothes at work in case they go on a spontaneous date, and 14 per cent of women disclosing they carry a clean pair of underwear in their handbag so they are prepared for an unexpected outing.
When asked about getting intimate with their partners, on average, men said they should wait until the fifth date, while women wouldn't get up close and personal until the sixth.
But only 38 per cent of females and 20 per cent of males said they would only have sex with their date once they were in a monogamous relationship.
