A form of alternative medicine that uses essential oils and other aromatic compounds to alter a person’s mindset, mood or health.

An alternative medicine technique using stones and crystals as healing tools. The practitioner places crystals on different parts of the body which usually correspond to the chakras, in order to surround the client with healing energy.
Someone who is able to gain information about people, objects or events using methods other than their traditional five senses.
The process of receiving messages or inspiration from extra-dimensional beings or spirits; a means of connecting to the source of creative consciousness. Channelling can be expressed in thoughts, images, spoken or written words, sounds, sensations or knowing.
The feeling of having experienced something before that is actually happening now.
The state of things that come from a supernatural power or deity.
The art of discovering future events; attempting to gain insight into a question or situation using an occultic, standardised process or ritual.
Extrasensory perception – the reception of information not gained through the recognised physical senses but with the mind.
Intended for or likely to be understood by a small number of people with a specialised knowledge or interest.

Having or displaying an otherworldly, magical, or fairylike aspect or quality. Also being interested in or attuned to the supernatural.
A prediction about a person’s future based on the positions of the planets, sun and moon at their birth.
The part of us that is at one with the universe and has no physical attachments.
A feeling you have about something that you cannot explain.
From Buddhism and Hinduism – the belief that a person’s actions affect their fate in future lives.
A word or short piece of text or prayer continually repeated to help concentration.
A person who seeks spiritual knowledge using contemplation and self-surrender, or who believes in the spiritual apprehension of truths that are beyond the intellect.
A person who can receive messages in the form of sensory impressions or physical forces from spirits in the afterlife. A medium will rely on energy coming from outside their own body to relay information, whether it is thoughts, voices or other impressions.
Relating to the supernatural, filled with or characterised by a sense of a supernatural presence.
A phenomenon that is believed to foretell the future, often signifying the advent of change.
A person or agency considered to gain wise counsel or prophetic predictions of the future, inspired by the gods.
A person who is able to perceive information that is hidden from most people’s typical five senses – they use what is known as extra-sensory perception or ESP.
The totality of the human mind, conscious and unconscious.
Having or showing knowledge of events before they take place.
A strong feeling that something is about to happen when there is no definite reason to believe it will.
A specific attempt to discern information using heightened perceptive abilities or ESP. Consultations are usually given for a fee in such settings as over the phone, in the home, or at psychic fair.
Small stones or pieces of bone that bear symbols with mysterious or magic significance. They are used in divination.
A Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by “laying on hands” using the idea that “life force energy” flows through us.

The mapping of mental and spiritual pathways using cards that each feature pictograms and titles to represent specific concepts.
