What is clairvoyance?
The term ‘clairvoyance’ comes from the French – clair for clear and voyance for vision, so a clairvoyant is literally ‘one who sees clearly’.
However, this doesn’t mean they have excellent eyesight. Instead, it refers to the fact that they are able to gain information about people, objects or events using methods other than their traditional five senses.
You have probably heard of the term ‘sixth sense’. A clairvoyant is someone who has an enhanced development of this natural ability, which derives from the sixth chakra in the centre of the forehead.
They are able to find out things that are not immediately obvious and that they have never learnt or been told. For example, they might see people or happenings in the past, present or even the future using movements of energy that are otherwise invisible.
A clairvoyant can then translate this information using the other five senses in order to pass them on to others.
Some are remote viewers and you will no doubt have heard about incidents in which they have been asked to find missing objects or even people following crimes. Others receive more spiritual information that tends to require interpretation. It is these who typically offer consultations to people who require them – people just like you.
History of clairvoyance
Clairvoyance has a very long history, with anecdotal evidence that ancient cultures trusted in such abilities to guide them and foresee the future. For many centuries, they were given a religious significance, with clairvoyant visions believed to come from God.
However, we tend to see clairvoyance outside the realms of religion today, something that has been the case since around the early 19th century.
During that time, clairvoyants were viewed with the same awe as modern celebrities and showcased their abilities across the globe as entertainment. Unfortunately though, this resulted in many instances of fraudulent claims of psychic ability.
Thankfully, in the 21st century, this kind of criminal activity has waned and we once again view clairvoyants as able to offer a valuable and very welcome service to those in need.
Having a consultation with a clairvoyant
Many people will have flashes of clairvoyance throughout their lives – for example, we often hear of individuals who see a loved one appear before them, only to find later on that they died at around the same time.
However, for real guidance and insight into your life, it is a good idea to seek a consultation with someone who is a true clairvoyant, such as our experts at PsychicsOnline.
When making an appointment, always go with the clairvoyant you are drawn to, as this often happens for a reason. In addition, approach the reading with an open mind and be prepared to hear absolutely anything – you never know what they will coax from your psyche.
Remember that you do not have to travel to see a clairvoyant, as they can tune in to the information they need from a distance, but you may wish to prepare some questions to provide focus for each session.
The clairvoyant will read your aura to see what is happening in terms of your energy and might also take a look at the mental images you project to assess your mental and spiritual state.
However, remember that no good clairvoyant will ever tell you what to do or offer to solve your problems – making the decisions and creating new pathways is up to you – good luck!
