Angelina Jolie: I'm still in contact with my mum

Angelina Jolie has revealed that she likes to stay in contact with her mother, who died of cancer in 2007.

The 39-year-old actress told French Marie Claire magazine that Marcheline Bertrand "is there, present all the time" as the actress raises her family with new husband Brad Pitt.

"I feel in contact with my mother when I look at my children. I can feel her influence over me then," Angelina commented.

Her brood now comprises comprising Maddox, 13, Pax, 10, Zahara, nine, Shiloh, eight, and six-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne and the Oscar-winner revealed she tries to raise them in the same way that her own mother brought up her and her brother James.

Speaking of Marcheline's character, Angelina added: "She was very soft but could move mountains for her kids."

The Maleficent star was clearly devastated by her mum's death and made sure she played a part in her recent wedding to Pitt. Not only did she wear one of her rings, but Pitt also arranged a special surprise for his new wife.

According to Hello! magazine, he had a dedication to Marcheline engraved inside the chapel and unveiled it when they stood to take their vows. If that's not a tear-jerker, we don't know what is!

It perhaps isn't surprising that Angelina believes in an afterlife in which her mother can watch over her family, as she has been known in the past for her unusual outlook on life. At one point, she wore a vial of then-husband Billy Bob Thornton's blood on a chain around her neck.

She might be a little more mainstream now, but we're pleased to hear she is still in touch with her spiritual side.

Remaining in touch with lost loved ones can be a great way to alleviate the grief caused by their passing. Why not contact one of our psychics or mediums to see if you can receive a message from a family member?
